It's Been Much, Much Too Long

It has, and I miss it. Unfortunately, I'm only posting a few photos I took a while back that I never had time to put up. Soon, though, school will be out, and I will be free! I am planning on a new lens, most likely the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D AF. Can't wait!

Here's Skip playing in the sunshine.

He wasn't too thrilled in the beginning, but he quickly realized he could make a game out of it by making me chase him around with the camera.

He thought he might be able to hide in the grass...

Then came the game...

He realized I wasn't playing after I yelled at him for running around the yard like a maniac.

Then he gave up.

More Randomness with My New Toy

I Heart Macro

Fun in macro with my new camera!!!

New Camera!

One rainy day I came home to find a small brown box sitting on the table near the door. So I finally got my new camera, yay! It's a Nikon D80 DSLR body. The lenses from my old film SLR fit the D80 body, so I got it instead of a D60 with a lens. I also got an 8GB HDMI memory card from newegg.com for super cheap, about $35. (If you ever need any electronics or computer-related items, go there, it is unlikely you will find any place cheaper, even with shipping).

That afternoon, there was a summer rain shower just finishing as I opened the box. Of course I had to play with my new camera and this offered a nice opportunity to test it out. So, here are a few of the best shots I took. It was a little dark outside, so I didn't get the depth of field I wanted on some of these. I really should have used the tripod, but I wa
s just too excited to mess around with setting it up! =)

Technorati Profile

This is what happens when I wake up at 7am on my day off...

I'm so used to waking up at 5:30am/6am for work that I wake up almost that early on my own on my days off. Early mornings like that are great for photography because of the lighting as well as the wildlife out and about. This day I took skip out to the backyard, and found that the sunflowers I had planted had just opened their flowers, and the bees (which I didn't even know were existent in my developed housing area) were taking advantage of the fresh food. I took these with my trusty point and shoot. The thing I like the most about this camera is that the colors are vibrant and true to the original scene.

May 2007 Hungary Trip

Whenever I travel, I definitely try to take advantage of the great photo ops while I'm abroad. These were taken with my SLR, the color one with fujifilm.

The color photo: An old shop in the town of Tokaj, where the famous Tokaj Aszu dessert wines are made.

The B&Ws: The woman in the photos is my cousin Zsolt's wife, ZsuZsa. The woman with the baby is my cousin Henni with her daughter.
